breeding my ferrets this year

Hi there all wonder if any one can give me any advise?? i have 2 jills which are from the same litter and are housed together!! im planning to breed them this year using the same hob! will i have to seperate the jills when they are pregnant and due to have kits or will they be alright together?? the hutch they are in is more than big enough to house them both with kits.

Personally i would seperate them , thats just me though , you know them best :laugh: so act accordingly

separate them mate.Not that they won't be ok together they probably will its when you sell or give away the young you wont get rid of brother and sister as a breeding pair.2 ferts at least 20 young

I bred two sisters last year, and kept them together, and Im glad I did, one went into labour a couple of days before the other, and I was in the court, she came out of the sleeping box, and went to the corner to have a crap, but it was infact giving birth, it was the sister that licked the sac off, and carried the kitt, back to the box, they had a total of 15 between the 2 of them, and spent most of the time, transferring all the babies from one to another sleeping box, had they not been together, I reckon I would have lost a few,

the only downside was I couldent tell who's was who's

i am breeding this year...

i am keeping jills from my litter atleast 2... then after that my hob is having the snip.

when they come into season the mother and daughter will they have to be seperated or will they be ok i know that the hob will have to be?? but will they be able to live together.. when in season

i have them all mixed the only thing is the vasectomised trys it on with the castrated ones when he has finished with the girls :icon_redface:

 

thats weird sue, my 2 snipped ones will try each other, and any jills, but steer well clear of their dad (castrated)

my hob is busy having my jill but her kneck is getting beaten up lol.... what do you lot treat it with, little warm water mixed with a little bit of dettol disinfectant i would think..

 

 

i dont think you jills neck being beaten up is a lot of laughs at all,take the hob out and wash her neck with with clean water and put a little wound powder on dont use dettol never use anything what goes white in the water

so why put its being beaten up then that makes a lot of sense even if its getting bruised its time to take him out
