falco rustlicolus 0
Hi Jasper that was the plan i did have a brief stay in malta. However the risk of having a bird shot was to high. Whilst over in malta a eagle flew onto the island & was shot. Altough ilegal to shoot such birds the trophy can make the person a lot of money & the fine he got was around £60. This was his third conviction. So still stuck in the uk. Quote Link to post

falco rustlicolus 0
Thats true birds are persecuted here also, But over there laws can not carry so much weight. On the coastal area all you see is shelters with people waiting for migrating birds to fly over island on a stop over . Because they dont get many birds passing over when they see anything flying they get trigger happy. some of the hunters wait for sevral days & not see any quarry . there are changes on the way in malta like conservation awarness but we have been told it will be a long time getting hunters to stop this killing.
