Guest Ditch_Shitter
Having got a new PC, I've spent much of today fiddling with it and trying to sort out my customary settings. Naturally, I've made the odd gaff - especially as this one came 'up and running', only full of someone elses bits and pieces. Thus I've been ripping those out and installing my own. Trouble is, somewhere along the track I've managed to fluff something with my screen size, or what ever. Result is that my bottom task bar is now so low as to be half hidden. I can't see the clock or any of the icons properly. Just their top halves. I've been everywhere and tried everything I can think of. No good. What am I missing, please? speedlamper 0
does your new monitor have any menu buttons? might just be the horizontol settings, thats the only thing i can think of for half being missing
Sirocco 0
To low ?, or dissapeared ?, if just to low move mouse till cursur is over the top edge of the taskbar, you will see two black arrows, right click and just drag it little higher.
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Still using my old moniter. Haven't touched a thing on that. But that's a good point as it shows it's truly a pc setting. Tried the arrows. They only grab the window. Oh! Now here's a thing! I've just now realised that I have a slight, black border down the left hand side of the moniter. I can drag this window behind it. That's never been there before either. I believe this all has something to do with the size of the screen settings. But it's adjusted through the pc itself, not the moniter. I just can't put my finger on what it is. Chris Jones knows about these things and I'm sure Ian B would. Some clever bugger'll happen along and point me right. What a relief that'll be!
Ossie 11
right, a few things it could be. right-click on your desktop, choose "properties" from the menu, then "settings", and chech your screen resolution. i think 600 x 800 is the norm. the other thing to try is adjusting your monitor, as it sounds more likely it's something up there. when i had my pc re-jigged, and plugged it back into my old monitor i had to readjust the monitor to make the screen fit. maybe you knocked the buttons in the process of putting everything back together. i just had a tinker with my monitor to see if i could make it do what yours is doing, and the vertical stretch thing did it. or just see which dog looks the guiltiest, and make them undo whatever they've done to it.
