macberran 2
Guevara, You said you did the finger test and with your right eye open it stayed the same,R.E.D. okay now off course it goes fuzzy as we can,t focus on two things at the same time which are diffrent distances from us,we can only image them such as periferaly. Gun mount and fit are the important thing here, if its constant it comes up to the same spot(where your looking) each time you'll hit what your pointing at when its mounted. Everyone on here has made the valid points too get you sorted out. If its a recent thing get along for a free eyetest........or give your right hand a break . All the best Quote Link to post
Guest guevara
If i shut my right eye and keep my left open it stays the same.If i close my left eye and have the right open it move.My left is dominant.I just wondered if where to where an eypatch would the problem sort its self out. Try wearing a pair of safety spec's and put a small paper dot, like you get from a hole punch, in the centre of the lens (dominant eye). That way you keep both eyes open and it gives the weaker eye a chance . I have heard this method works .So please don't anyone have a pop at me for a daft suggestion Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
OK thanks.I have brought breaking clays and a clay shooting DVD.I have been shooting clays for about 7 years and had about 11 lessons. This eye domincence has started to creep upon me within the last year. and you don't know and have never heard of a rib?????? How old are you, eye dominance does not creep up on you after about 12 or 14...you have it ..fact, sometimes it can be "adjusted"! When do you intend to fill in some of your personal profile?? If you don't intend to I would be interested to hear why! Edited March 15, 2008 by Deker Quote Link to post

Nope, it's spot on. My son had to shoot like this for a couple of years. My mate's young (15) daughter shoots clays with about a 12mm sticky disc on her left glasses lens. You need to put the glasses on, then get someone to centre the sticker right on the centre of the eye. This stops it seeing downrange, but lets it experience full light. The pupils of your eyes are not independent, so an eye patch would put one eye in the dark, causing both irises to open for more light. Not what you need on a sunny day. Also, guevara talks about focus on the barrel. You cannot focus on two distances at once, watch the target (clay) and let the barrels be in "soft focus", the gun fit and swing will do the rest. Lewdan 17
I have master cross eye or something, so every time i shoot i have to close my left eye which is annoying as i prefer to have a plain field of view.If i look at the bead with both eyes open, the target goes all fuzzy, and if i try to look at bead and target together i can see down the side of the barrel and everything goes all fuzzy. Should i just look at the target with both eyes open and not even bother looking at the bead the bead? Any help would be great. Reagards everyone Hi mate, i used to suffer same problem many years ago, unfortunately for some reason i connot close my right when shooting, and this made things really frustrating for me because i was missing a hell of lot of shots.I tried a few ideas such as tape on glasses, and even an eye patch but couldnt get on with any of them so kicked them into touch..i am naturally right handed but my master eye is the left, so in the end i switched sides and now shoot all guns left handed this took quite a while to get used to but now it is natural to me. so i would say if you are hitting your targets by closing one eye then stick with that and , dont try to fix it if its not broke... Cheers & good hunting Quote Link to post
