Sounds to me like you want to do everything, why don't you get yourself some books & have a good read about hunting,shooting,fishing & anything else to do with the sport.

 

As far as getting land, you have no chance if you don't even know what you are talking about, what will you say if the landowner asks you what type of firearm you will be using ?

 

This is why land owners get pissed off when people turn up with no idea.

 

As some one has said before why don't you go out with someone who is local to you & get yourself some experience

Many farmers around me will happily give out 200 cartridges for lads to shoot at pigeons ,providing you do them a propper service .I'm not into pigeon shooting enough for that but loads of lads do .Most of my stalking is done on the undertanding that i do the foxes too Its a hard life but ...........Never paid for nowt except a bottle or two at christmas .Once you get yourself a good name locally its usually the other way round with landowners contacting you to see if you want to control this or that ,at least thats what happens here .

As I said in some way you pay in one way or other.

I am not just referring to money, cost in time and favours for mutual benefit.

I get to do the sport I love the landowner gets a service that diffuses the costs incurred through damage by those pesky critters.
