macker 5
have had dogs rather than bitches most of the the time. when i used wippets you got that little extra in height and stride. othe wise if i was getting a pup and i seen bitches of the line work well i would go for a bitch pup. have seen some lines throw very good dogs too. i think with an open mind to both sexes might stand you a better chance. Guest midnight_runner
for what its worth i think dogs are harder and more independant than bitches at least thats what i have found with my own dogs Quote Link to post

byron 1,188
Anyone out there have an opinion on which one makes the best workers and why? I have my own opinions on this and was wondering what yours were! This is to those of you that hunt with hounds, knowing that some hunts take out bitch packs and also mixed packs. Also to those of you who work your own dogs! Lurchers, Terriers or any other types! Do you find them better to handle in kennels? Better on different types of quarry etc etc? Or do you think it makes no difference at all? doggy looking bitches? Quote Link to post

logman 0
Going with the genaeral theme, you like one our the other. I wouldnt hve a dog, but thats because ive already got a lot of bitces, which suit me nicely and i cant be assed with separating them Quote Link to post
Guest Sumo
If you can get a good bitch then that will do me fine. I have a reasonable one at the moment and she is pretty consistent, whereas I have two dogs that are not that interested when there is a bitch in or near season. I also fine training bitches easier and more fun, so that does it for me. Quote Link to post
