EPTR 4
Well thanks Bill we do are best Quote Link to post
EPTR 4
Unbelievable. Please god make it stop. What you dont want to disagree with that last indepth post then Bill, it must sting a bit reading all that ..so no back doored dogs then thought as much, anymore propaganda you'd like me to deflect? .. I am fully aware of Remlap-thanks for another unnecessary welsby lecture though. and all that only took 4 days to think up. lets set things straight shall we? Not for the one eyed king (????) but for anyone else that might still be reading the thread-god knows most must have gotten tired of your monotonous endevours to blow your trumpet. I declined to register my pack with the PTA for the reason previously quoted-coat pattern was the primary breeding criteria at far too early a stage. This excluded outstanding WORKING dogs eg. Paul Florkowski's Syd, from being used as he was-sin of sins, shatter marked. A "fault" that is childs play to breed out. This is just one example that illustrates my point. At no time did i restrict vandal from serving ANY suitable bitch-registered or not.AND NEVER CHARGED A STUD FEE. At no time did i try to prevent any other way for my lines "precious genes" to become regestered. Nor have i any problem with any other person registering with any club, any dog. It was simply MY CHOICE not to. I gifted my pack to the Remlap kennels as Derek is a down to earth honest WORKING TERRIERMAN and i knew he would do right with them-and he has. With the above paragraph in mind,I was told directly that YOU, Glenn welsby, approached HIM about regestering them.(jrt's f1's? why,if they were so crap??) I have no problem with derek registering them-its a free country and if it suited him then good for him. Would i take your word over an honest genuine bloke? In one of your favorite words - NOPE! I look foreward to your answer to Moorman 1's question. "Blowing MY trumpet"..how doya work that out?.. Four days to think up nope..sometimes that thing you obviuosly dont do "work " gets in the way of fun. Firstly to decline is to be asked you were'nt asked personaly by me nor was remlap they as he did come to us,usualy because they need papers for the pups they have just bred. AS FOR NOT RESTRICTING ..Surely by not registering Reids Vandal then you are restricting his use...thank god you were so hell bent on keeping away! SECONDLY .NEVER EVER HAS THERE BEEN A RESTRICTION ON THE USE AS STUDS OF ANY MISMARKED DOGS FOR BREEDING ..EVEN TODAY THAT STILL STANDS...PROPGAGANDA BY THE ILL INFORMED OUTSIDERS AS AN EXCUSE NOT TO BE INVOLVED..SUCH AS YOU. INFACT YOUR UNAWARE OF THE STUDS THAT HAVE BEEN USED OBVIUOSLY..ONE SOME WHAT MIGHTY STUD WAS MISMARKED AND FORMED AN EXCELLENT LINE THAT I PERSONALY HAVE LINE BRED TO . "Childs play to breed out" ..again Bill your showing your lack of knowledge, as a a proven novice breeder. Ever wondered why remlap with his new gifted pack wanted to become a breeder and member and register the stock with the pta ?...Think about it Bill! Back doored nope open front door... to a genuine lad. Quote Link to post
fireman 10,935
Glen again you seek a little attention out of nothing by saying we do our best, bushing for rabbits or giving them a mink once in a while from a trap ain't work in the true sence and what was ment was earthworking plummers, something you freely admit to not doing so why you here on a working plummer thread? . goldfinch2007 2,332
no wonder theres bad press with plummers,to much bickering.glen prove people wrong about plummers and put up a few working pics, Quote Link to post
stormyboy 1,352
Quite right goldy. Back to topic-re phrased question. Those that have or do work your plummers to ground-how do/did you find their style? Mixers? bayers? Quote Link to post
fireman 10,935
My bitch is straight in and likes to mix it a bit ,do sometimes hear her bay but not often and as she's not a big bitch she can get a bit of stick at times but the only time she cares is when you lift her out at the end as all she wants is back in and back to it. pointer 543
I still have a fondness for the plummers, some would maybe say i never had a plummer as they were direct from Curtis and as has been mentioned were the mixed bred dogs that produced what is now seen as a "plummer".I dont care either way as i was happy with what i had from CP. All i have now is a 6 1/2 month old pup, roughly a 3/4 plummer 1/4 nuttall. Not a plummer just a pup that goes back to the dogs CP had which suited me well enough.I cant see me ever having another red and white terrier again but i do like to hear of lads still working theirs. stormyboy 1,352
Smart looking pup, nice strong head. If your dogs were from Curtis then they were Plummers-his came directly from Brian so it stands to reason that if they weren't then there is no such thing as a plummer terrier! The clue's in the name! Did you work the original plummers from Curtis to ground? Quote Link to post
pointer 543
Yes i worked the two bitches i had from curtis, not loads to ground but they did ok when the chances came up and did alot of bushing, ratting etc.Ive never had terriers with better noses than them two.I had an accidental litter out of one of them to a CP bred dog which produced a rough haired bitch which my mate worked to ground fairly regularly. Both mother and daughter were lost to ground working(seperate places six months apart). In 2002 I had lined the same bitch with a nuttall terrier and kept back the red dog in the pic above. He was sent down to curtis as a youngster and worked with one of the foxhound packs for a while which had used plummers in the past. The only criticism the huntsman had was that he was a hard dog, that never changed and he only lasted a few seasons but can still go ratting. The pup is his son and only time will tell if he will work.Im still in regular contact with curtis. when/if the plummer gets kc everything that dosent conform, isnt registered, has some outcross blood etc etc will not be seen as a plummer.Right or Wrong i just dont care,i like the family of terriers that curtis had.Ive never seen them as breed. stormyboy 1,352
Kc, registered, outcross, not a plummer-done to death. My stud dog also did hunt service in wales with the same result. The huntsman declined his working cert. saying "i would rather he stood back a bit". Still,it didnt break my heart-better that way than the other! I would rather he stood back too but he learned to take care of his quarry pretty quickly. Quote Link to post
Cleanspade 3,324
pups looking well pointer as is the old en. my bitch is on the big side but gets one or two. i thought she was going to be an out an out bayer but she got stuck in on the last one will have to see how she goes next season. my young bitch amber is showing a little promise so fingers crossed if the plummer is registered. the rest will still be plummers just unregistered.working stuff. same as for instance. the working lakeland(fell) and the KC laky. i know which i would prefare. the sooner there is a clear divide the better. as for EPTR. folk like that do more damage to the breed than any crossbred . i like the plummer as a type of terrier. and dont care for folk that talk down to others. get out and work your dogs and seek like minded folk. and fkuk the rest. eptr on here is on a soapbox preaching to people that dont care for his ideals. tells a story. good luck to anyone working there plummers in the coming season. whatever they work. redgistered or not registered. there is only one way to find the real value of a dog and thats in the field 2 Quote Link to post
pointer 543
stormyboy i think the whole "pure" plummer stuff along with the host of clubs is a load of bollocks.BUT i no longer care if anyone wants to call what i had mongrels or say they werent plummers.ive done my share of arguing on the net and regret it all.........may aswell debate religion and politics. i have a young pup here that is starting to use its nose, has been taken ratting and has come along for walks beside the river to get used to hounds.he will be worked, maybe not as much as an all-out digging dog but enough to know if he is usefull.if he works then ill have a terrier who is just about as closely bred to the terriers brian gave curtis as you can get.that will do me......never liked red and white anyway either for terriers or football clubs, now if i could get a black and white marked terrier i could be tempted Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
A sharp looking pup there pointer Quote Link to post
