Ah well FJager, i hadn’t intended to write another post on this thread but as soon as i saw your name, i knew you would be writing another love letter to me, and i felt it would be rude for me not to respond. Wouldn’t it????

 

You write posts, such as this one, directed at me. Writing whatever you want and dissecting my character, yet when i write something similar, then (according to you) i am rude or insulting etc etc. Does that not seem to be somewhat unfairly in your favour?

 

When i write my post, people such as you, feel it’s their moral obligation to dissect every word i write to find some insulting meaning in it’s context, however, apart from the one you have just quoted in this particular thread, that is not so. Yes, i agree that i was quite rude in this particular post due to sheer frustration and anger, and for that i apologise to those i named, even though at least one of those, our friend ratman 2, goes out of his way to insult me at every turn. However, i agree i was wrong and should not have stooped to that level of communication.

The things we say and do often become clouded when we are discussing something that we are passionate about and we all can become carried away from time to time, that is why the larger Field Sport organisations the world over now hire professional PR people to make public statements. When passionate members make these statements it nearly always creates a drama as we can see above and yet we are all in it together. Basically we all need to stop and think before we speak to anyone in the 'heat of the moment' I am not singling you out, WE are ALL gulity of it at one time or another and then look what happens.

 

I do not know Shotgun Tom, but know of his work through a friend and his advice is very sound, men like him are our perfect ambassadors and they may become snakey from time to time in instances like this simply because they put so much effort into their lifestyle and then at times have it questioned, they have seen it all before.

 

The 'Landed Gentry' type organisations will never give a shit about anyone else so why swell their numbers game by becoming a member, join a grass roots organisation, I am sure Tom can help in this matter. Tom I hope I havn't spoke out of place.

 

The one statement of yours I do take issue with is Stab's is not a sweetie, he has a head on him like a robber's dog and is ginger!

FJager, i appreciate your explanation and do agree with much of what you say.

It is due to my respect for your intelligence, that i take the time and trouble to explain my reasons to you, however, and understandably, you and i may not agree on all accounts and as a result i expect some criticism and when I am wrong, particularly when it's pointed out to me, i will admit to it, and apologise for it, as i did in this particular post.

I do have to say though, i find it most insulting to have my gender questioned by you, although you do not know me, i take pride in being a strong minded woman and feel i should be given the credit for that.

Since I'm unable to prove that to you, i feel the decent thing for you to do is to take me at my word, as i take you at yours.

The topics were merged because of the same pissing contest in two threads... I really can't see what the issue is. No one has been accused of anything (except TSA being accused of being the new messiah) so I can't see what is the fu*king problem.

 

It appears that the poll was lost in the merge. Very sorry about that but it was pretty fu*king weak at 54 votes from the then 8205 members. Anyone waiting for a sudden rush of late voting will be sadly disappointed.

I retract my apathy comment and replace it with total and utter self destruction. We gone from not giving a fu*k to killing ourselves infront of the general public. I actually wish that large calibre handguns were still legal because, after reading this, I want to register one just so I can blow my brains out.

 

I respect that no one will ever agree on everything but reading this thread our opponents must be pissing themselves with laugher at our total ineptitude.

No it didn't help but to be honest, Tom, the level of negativity shown is sign of the endemic problems within the fieldsport community. I'm as guilty as the next man. I genuinely believe that if we continue at the current rate any remaining fieldsports, we have, will be consigned to the history books. This can be avoided but either people are pursuing their own agenda or aren't really bothered at all.

 

No. I don't absolve myself from blame. Mistakes were made but as per usual instead of trying to find the answers the abuse comes thick and fast. If the original poll was such a matter of concern then why didn't anyone vote on it?

 

I pinned the topic because I thought it would be a decent start to a long overdue discussion. Like most things on this forum it ends up with bickering and death threats... as per usual.

 

The threads were merged because two massive threads were arguing the same points. What those points were is anyone's guess. The completely closed forum is something I'd like to see but with so many people here, with varying agendas, is it going to make a shred of difference anyway? 30 years of the last lot of fieldsport history would say a resounding NO.

 

This forum is crawling with antis. Looking at a lot of content posted all over they're doing a great job of discrediting us and we're handing them the ammunition. They are sat here pissing themselves laughing as we're hovering over the self destruct button when we should be uniting against a common enemy.

 

I took part in the initial support of TSA because his proposals are long overdue. I naively thought that an open discussion would yield some progress for fieldsports. Instead we're at the albatross stage, as you said, and yes my comments are extremely negative and damaging. So what's new with fieldsports there then? We're so worried about antis when this constant flame war between different cliques is making us look extremely bad. That can be played out from this forum right the way up to the organisations and the sporting press. I bellyache about the result because this is yet another thread that ends up with people arguing. The glass isn't half empty, it's been lobbed across the room and smashed into a million pieces... and the stains won't come out of the carpet.

 

Yes. The general public don't give a shit either way. They wind up on a site like this through idle curiosity, or through a tedious link from the mainstream press. We reward them with conflict and dubious content. Nice PR move. If people wished to build bridges they wouldn't start the aggro in the first place. That's the only way it can work but politics is always a messy business but most political pressure groups dig up shit on others... not themselves.

 

Nothing else I can say. Nothing else I want to say. I'm unstickying this thread and it will sit here until someone else decides to remove it, that way no one can whinge about freedom of speech. If you want it removing then use your vote and hit the report button.

 

If you wish to start another thread on the futility of UK fieldsports groups then be my guest. I will have no input in it's future. Feel free to argue amongst yourselves.

 

I genuinely hope that results can be gained but unity has to start here... no sense worrying about the enemy whilst we're trying to kill each other.
