Used just about most things over the years, both paper & straw were good (for the dogs) but messy and a real pain to clean up after, the paper sticks too much when out the box and wet and the straw really can give the drains a bad time!

Now with two dogs and a 'reduced' kennel set up I came across a dog bed at the local market, with a 'memory foam' pad inside a tough nylon outer layer, I drop it in their sleeping quarters every night whilst they are eating with a fleece type blanket and fish it out and give it a shake the next morning, as my younger dog, if left in the kennel, will still drag it out and rip it up  . Easy and cosey!

18mm rubber stable mats with straw on top, always kept mastiffs too and find the mats stop them getting sore elbows etc. and the lurchers love them,i also leave a mat out on the concrete run and they always lie on it when they're outside.

flanalett sheets, flat not fitted at this time of year, on kingsize bed, with 15tog duvet

Dogs like the same :D but will make do with the sofa by the wood burner, or the bean bag cusions by the aga. If all else fails they will make do with the second hand duvet and blankets by our bedroom door!!!

Yep, same here only mine is a Canadian goose down duvet. No wood burner or aga, so they make due with a cot bed which has a nice foam mattress on in and a flannel blanket, when downstairs. Poor dogs, so hard done by.

Tomo that set up looks cosy

I've heard quite a few people say they use something called vet bed - all have said it's an excellent material, easy to clean, warm and durable. Google it ;)
