Paul in North Lincs 15
may sound daft is it wormed upto date?? Also what have you been feeding it on upto now??.... Does it have diarrea? If you've been swapping and changing the food, this can have an adverse efect of the dog. One of my pups was very light, until I started to uup the raw meat........ within a couple of she'd wanged loads of weight on..and looked a completlely different dog... Dogs can also been allergic to ceral in dry foods....I found this out recently to... I think you need to tell us a bit more if you can ps....couldnt see a picture, so Im assuming its a skinny un Quote Link to post
Guest reload
Do it the proper way. 1st fast the dog of food for 24 hours. 2nd choose what food you want too feed (my advice would be fresh food) 3rd Cut food back by 3/4 of volume. 4th dont leave feed down, just present the dog with the small amount of food, if it does not eat it in 10 mins, take it away, and repeat process the next day. Once the dog is clearing the small amount SLOWLY increase the volume (dont do this too quickly as you will be back at square one) 5th use something with aniseed or a tablet called Malted Kelp 1 hour before the feed, as this will make the stomach hungry and help. 6Th stop changing the food, stick to one sort 7Th dont panic, dogs will not starve themselves to death... This works and in the most effective way to do it Quote Link to post

Meerihunter 7
Thats as good as advice as it gets followed to the letter and you and your dog will get on fine. what you are doing now with the trying this and that is actually the cause of the problem. Quote Link to post
mart123blue 0
I know this sounds a bit daft but could the dog be allergic to something. At about 6 months my border bitch kept on getting bald patches on her legs and vomiting her food. Changing food stopped the vomiting but didn't get rid of the bald patches. After about 9 months of different foods we had her tested at the vet and turns out she is allergic to wheat and rice which is in loads of dog food. I know it is a long shot and you definitely wouldn't choose to pay for the test, but maybe a change from dry food to wet/raw would do a job. Quote Link to post

dytkos 17,784
If all else fails, take it to the vet. There could be a stomach disorder, or worse. Quote Link to post
