markieboi 0
was just wondering what would be better or what the ferrets would prefere minced rabbits or rabbits leg dadle ect as if it was minced it would take less space in the freezer cheers mark Quote Link to post
stubby 175
I tend to chop off legs and head at home once gutted in the field, leave the fur on, as this stops them sticking together in the freezer, they fit in the freezer a lot better this way, can get around 50 in a small square chest freezer. take out one rabbit (each day) the night before to de-frost, then the jack russel gets the back half, legs chopped into 4 or so bits the ferts get the rest, again chopped into large chunk size bits, the local urban fox gets the skin Quote Link to post

Malt 379
I chop mine up into chunks when space is at a premium, otherwise they go in minus the head & feet. Quote Link to post
pigeonphill 69
i was thinking more about saveing space as i have a 40cm x 40 cm freezer so a very small one feed whole rabbit get yourself a bigger freezer than you can then go ferreting more often Edited March 11, 2008 by pigeonphill Quote Link to post
MikeTheDog 153
In your situation I would chop the rabbit into smaller pieces to suit your freezer, lots of tiny bones in a minced rabbit...OK for the dogs but a small harmless bone fragment to a dog would be a large splinter to a ferret.
