Why are they scum CC?................I see little difference from the meat trade anywhere else, other than its not in a modern abbatoir.

I like a nice bit of veal..........no different to that IMHO.

Just to add, what right have a load of animal rights busybodys got to go over there an tell them how to live their life............sounds all too familiar.

dogs have large litters and at a young age like pigs so in certain areas they can be a usefull food source, different cultures different views none of our business, if your concerned about there conditions we do it to chickens so we are no better! live and let live.

Thats the thing about the western cultures,were always spreading our democratic veiws with telling every other fecker what to do its a big old world out there....we do our thing and they do theres.Fillet of dog,chips and veg with a nice gravy

It's cruel to kill any animal in a way which takes it 7 minutes to die. It's also cruel to eat someone's pet ... ffs that's just wrong.

 

Never mind that it's dogs they're eating. The very fact that there's no welfare standard is disgusting. Just because we eat them doesn't mean we need to be cruel and barbaric to them. If you hunted an animal, say a fox, would you club it and stand there watching it suffer, or would you dispatch it humanely and quickly? If your dog was lost and you found out someone had stabbed it, watched it suffer, then boiled it and ate it - would you say oh well, it's their culture? Surely not.

 

Welfare standards worldwide are sorely lacking imho.

Yep I eat chicken. Free range chicken. I know some situations - like taking the kids to McD's - it can't be avoided, but that's why I say the welfare standards everywhere want attention. There's really no excuse for cruelty, full stop.

have to agree, its their culture, I can see their way of doing it, is not our way, but jumping up and condeming them, makes us no better than anti's,

and whats with THIS country letting halau meat being processed, surely thats no different, its outside the way other chickens etc are killed

By the way, where I grew up there was a chinese takeaway that had a EHO visit and apparently they found alsations hanging up in the fridges. We are talking the 70's here by the way.

I'm not pointing a finger at China because they eat dogs, I point a finger to all countries, this one and mine included, who turn their backs on welfare standards and/or fail to police the ones they've got. It's the cruelty that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's not for me to condemn another country because they eat dogs though personally the very idea makes me :sick:
