gsi2000stokie 5
i have a fully heated weathering for my birds. in the type of weather we are having lately bathing for a moulting bird is not really an option. so because i have heating that keeps a constant heat throughout the day and night. i spray my birds in the afternoon which they seem to appreciate. does anyone else do this and what sort of heating do you use. i have 2 types. i use a 2ft tubular greenhouse heater in each of my mews and a small oil filled radiator which i modified using a 4'' brushless fan, some 3'' drain pipe for ducting and a box to house the fan (made from breeze blocks). the box is at one end of the housing (x3) with the pipe work running along the back of the housings with a 'T' piece running into each one. the tubular heaters are on constantly and the oil filled works off a thermostat so when the temp drops below my desired setting the oil filled one kicks in along with the fan to push the warm air into my birds. it sounds really mad but its very simple and can be done really cheaply.
