dickyboy 1
i'm fairly sure it will be safe as its not pistol powder......i think thats the difference, get a reloading handbook, they've tried all calibres with all powders and tell you whats safe and the max you can use Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
yes you can use vit n160 with the 22-250, but it's only listed with the 75grain v-max. in the hornady book. but you should have no problem's with it. load data for 75grain v-max with n160 32.8g 2900fps 34.2g 3000fps 35.7g 3100fps 37.1g caution max load 3200fps check out some reloading sites for data on the 22-250. v-max 2
Hello to be honest this powder is of no use to you with this cal i load a 22.250 have done for 8/9yrs Another thing i found recently is that Fed Match primmers compliment VIt powders best & hogdons powder is CCI primmers this came from a benchrest shooter & tryed tested this & found this as he shoots for compitions to shoot for our SCOTLAND. As for 22.250 N140 is very good & many 22.250 shooters use this if you want loads just ask. Quote Link to post
russian sniper 0
I reload for my steyr ssg .22-250 I use Varget which is a very good powder for this calibre. BUT get a reloading manual and always start at the min load and work it up, keeping an eye out for pressure signs!!! I use CCI 200 large rifle primers with the Varget powder. James@Scarborough 0
N160 may be too slow burning for such a light round. As the other guys have said, check whatever loading manuals you can find, and for gods sake be careful. If you're not sure.......DON'T BOTHER. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
For 55 grain bullets vit n160 is too slow, you need a 75 grain to use it, for 55 grain bullets vit n140 or varget is the way forward. vit n150 will also do if you can't get the above. Quote Link to post
