i know you cant plant it to grow, but what is the hemp used for carpet and ground bait, think mostly carp lads/lasses use it, i spend a fair amount on the stuff when i go carp fishing, it does the job so what is that?

There's no active ingredient in the actual seed, the plant makes it. Not that there's much of of it in the plant that would grow from the common hemp seed that you buy in the bait shop either, not that I'd know, because cultivation of hemp seeds is illegal without the relevant government licence!

Theres no THC or indeed any cannabinoid in a seed,hemp seeds sold for fishing are harvested from industrial hemp,your going to get a headache from smoking it rather than any type of "High",seen cyanide fishermen on coral reefs stupifying fish for the aquarium trade,sadly the practice kills corals and theres a high mortality rate amongst the captured fish.

i work at a salmon farm here in shetland and we use a substance called MS222 , a powder disolved in water then the fish breath it through there gills thus making them float to the surface for lice checks and weight samples . the substance its self is contains traces of cocaine well im led to beleive by the ingredients label on the bucket, give me a pm if you want some i sell by the kilo hahah

Might not count as fishing, but i was wondering if anyone has had any experience using them (if anyone doesnt know, a narcotic is a fish toxin which paralises them and makes them float to the surface).

 

I heard walnut shells works pretty well.
