Bosun11 537
I've just returned from what was a very interesting and enjoyable day. Certanley NOT what I was expecting....! First off, the fecking size and scale of the place, huge!! Now I'm certainley not into KC breeds, all that funky running your fancy mutt round a ring....... and some of the grooming... BUT for all things canine, unbelivable!! Breeds that I have only read about, breeds i've never heard of and then the equipment..... Us working dog folk are always on the look out for vetinary supplies..... stalls full of 'em, magazines and mail order too. Plenty of stalls that are regulars at Game Fairs and plenty that i'd never seen but I found interesting.....yes, there are plenty of stalls for the 'foo foo dog' stuff (diamonties everywhere!) but great leather gear too. Bought a couple of fantastic oiled Buffalo hide leather leads with brass fittings (the best type i've ever used), these things last for years and my old ones are now well over 15 years, £13.00 each, the guy makes 'em to order too. Never seen anythin to match Strong Stuff's collars.....not by a long way. Aaron, i'm sure a stand there would be pricy but i'll bet you would more than reap the rewards. Would I go again......YES, though not too often but if and when something has to be renewed or I couldn't find it anywhere else......this is the place. Just on the down side, a big disappointment for me is seeing the Russells there, with Mr Eddie Chapman exibiting lets hope not all our working breeds become that popular to end up there. Walking through the stalls made me feel strangely sad..... Oh yes, one last thing.....my Mrs now wants an Italian Greyhound more than ever!!! Cheers
Rhyannon 0
Work of art , still looked bloody ridicolous, Gundog group won by American Cocker, anybody see that? How that can be called a gundog .Christ knows shave off the coat and you have a good little worker. I know of several that work in a clipped off coat. Get real for christs sake ,that excuse for a gundog is an insult to genuine working dogs, Hear hear .... I looked after one for a week for a rescue and all it was good for was as a lap dog and teddy bear ...... disgrace that it is in the Gun Dog group. Mind you went last year and after an hour of watching dogs being wheeled about in buggies and over preened show dogs I ended up at the gamekeeper section for most of the day as it was the only place where there were proper gun dogs.
