I know of several that work in a clipped off coat. Get real for christs sake ,that excuse for a gundog is an insult to genuine working dogs,

The KC standards have become so far removed from what the breed should be I doubt that many of the dogs shown could do the job they were originally bred for. Look at KC Bassets and Beagles, they are totally different to the ones you see bred into hunts and I know which I prefer. i know for a fact the gwp winners are workers however in saying that they are straight german bred imported working drahthaars a good example the germans know how to breed dogs. Sorry Farlap what breed of dog you got?If it was ESS OR LAB then I beg to differ that little bit of red on your stud dogs pedigree does help with the studs popularity in. As for the little American Cocker the show variety which won best of breeds is NOT A WORKING GUNDOG clipped or not clipped .What type of game and cover where these little Americans Cockers facing and are there two different lines as in SHOW OR WORKING.. And Ive been breeding, trialling ESS the working variety.for a few years and I do know the merits of that little red tag in front of the sires name. I am not having a go just stating what I find EDITED FOR GRAMMER FOR RATMAN 2 Edited March 8, 2008 by ESS

Ok, for some it’s good exercise but not my thing. ha ha....do you know i have been saying for ages that if the circus came to town with performing dogs there would be an outcry from the animal rights brigade and all the ladies of the town....but make it a recognised "sport" and give it a name like "dancing with dogs" and suddenly its ok to do it. Sorry but it makes me want to puke!

Guest little lurcher
i wouldnt like to say , except whilst judging was going on in my classes, the bbc was called down from the press office and the story was already half way written before the person got the best of breed, make what you wish of that , the person who won it also was judging there last year, enuf said i think , however i dont think all classes are rigged just some done as favours maybe , same with any showing ? i have been tolad to attend certain shows and the judge would like my dogs , now whether ive shot myself in the foot , i dont know but i refused to attend theses shows , i prefer my dogs to win lose or draw fairly not for favours
dare 1,103
I like to watch it just as something to do but i dont like the idea of dogs winning stuff based on look as it just fucks up the breeds. I dont care what the dog looks like as long as it does the task it was bred for.
