sounder 9
when there's £££££ involved then corruption is probably very likely really.....what £££ would that be then??? even if you win Best in Show the money is barely enough to cover the entry fee, the parking and the fuel getting there!! well i never worried about the costs when hunting so i don't think they worry much about it. ChrisJones 7,975
Will Ben Fogle be presenting it this year? Have the bookies stopped taking bets on him looking like a tit and not having a clue what's going on? They must think that because he wears a Tattersall shirt he's a countryman. J Darcy 5,871
im just back afetr showing my italian greyhounds and pleased to say i got a 2nd and a reserve ( 4th) had a fab day , dogs showed their socks off!! showing without a doubt is very facey, and i certainly am not one of the faces they want within the breed as i do things with mine , shock horror!!! ut regardless my boys did good !!! and i for 1 am very proud of them Best in show prize money is simply £100!!!!!! Good on you but how the feck can you relate that animal to a Hunting site?? The thread is about the dog show..... and the post relates to that. I actually got offered a ticket , but have been busy with one thing or another. My friend just text me and said it was a superb day. So, hopefully next year i will venture and have a look to see what all the fuss is about....

Missie 1
Gundog group won by American Cocker, anybody see that? How that can be called a gundog .Christ knows I don't watch Crufts anymore. The KC standards have become so far removed from what the breed should be I doubt that many of the dogs shown could do the job they were originally bred for. Look at KC Bassets and Beagles, they are totally different to the ones you see bred into hunts and I know which I prefer.

Andrea 2
The gundog group was i real disappointment ( i think). I think there was 1 maybe two, who had ever done any work. The rest where nothing more than over groomed, over bathed toys. I’ve only bathed mine twice since I’ve had her, a good brushing down is all a working dog needs, unless they get very wet. Can’t say i enjoyed watching people and dogs dancing to music, what’s all that about? Ok, for some it’s good exercise but not my thing.
Guest little lurcher
all poncing about aside did you see the veteran went 3rd in the group and he is a field champion too, that was good to see well done to anyone connected with anyone on this site with any awards at crufts , i know some of the work involved getting to crufts !!! i personally enjoy some of my showing with the dogs but with my whippets i feel i have to keep the workers in the ring or the breed will become so far split from the original
