Squirrel_Basher 17,100
On Tuesday ,i was lucky enough to get an invite to a local estate to help in the culling of the fallow herd .Without going into too much detail or numbers ,i managed 3 .One of which,a head shot was a bit too graphic for a pic .We were given a peg number and i drew a high seat just inside the main wood .It was very apparent why the cull was needed as the browse line was such that when stood, you can see from one end of the 150 acre wood to the other ? The deer were gently moved around and i saw the entire herd of 450 trot past me before i got a shot at some tail enders .Some cracking bucks amoungst them too .It was the mature does that were targetted but not as easy as it sounds .I managed a mature doe [head shot]a young doe and a pricket by mistake Stayed on after for the gralloch .Very necessary job to be done ,very professionally executed .
