i bought a dearhound colly hound a few weeks ago iv had her out a good few nights shes catching a good few rabbits but is breaking my heart she will bring them back put them on the ground but when u go to pick them up she,ll pick it up and walk off and will just not give it to me she even does it with fox,s, not that i want them back but she walks around the field with them to :wallbash::wallbash: please please help i dont want to get rid of her what should i do :(

NEXT TIME OUT when she catches sit down on your ass prais her in a squeky silly voice until she gives it to you //dont give in until she does even if she lets it go do it again nex time // this might take a while but it mostley works good luck .

As above but dont go and take the rabbit let her hold it stroke her back just sit down she,ll bring it to you,,,alternatively give her retrieve sit your back against a fence so she cant circle you call her to you try not to make eye contact she should come in ,,,once shes dropped or given you the retrieve then loads of fuss.

got to make her give it to you .... she will if you just keep waiting...dont go to her to get it...make her give it to you...she will if you wait long enough,once the penny drops and you praise her for it....she,ll be running back with them to present to you all cocky and proud.

 

how it always worked for my old dogs.
