dytkos 17,861
Left twenty years ago after giving up milking the old mans cows for him for fifteen quid a week, 7 days a week, he insisted he was doing me a favour. We get on a lot better now i am 5 hours away.Set up down here and now my only way out is to do the same as Moley, i am not quite ready for that yet unless a londoner with money burning a hole in their pocket wants to make me an offer i cant refuse. My old man is always trying to get us to move back over, but it is pretty unlikely. My dogs go everywhere with me, stupid as the Hancock haters may find it they have created so much extra revenue for me it is untrue, they are more famous on my patch than me, then that probably is not difficult. Washed the truck for the photo? Quote Link to post
mole catcher 1
most if not all of my mole work is done on domestic or small tennant farms and round this way we dont have any badgers so i can honestly say ive never lost a trap to a badger, as far as i know. I have however lost many to thieving foxes as you see the prints in the ground. the strangest thief was a tree rat, i saw it dragging a duffus along with the dead mole. this happed 4 times in the same hotel garden. it was soon stopped by an .22 AA Diablo field traveling at about 750fps Quote Link to post

mole trapper 1,694
YAWN, this isnt a Hancock thread, just goes to show the mentality of some people, pick up on one word in a thread about mole catching for a living and feel they need to jump in and gob off about someones dogs they know nothing about. Theres only one word for it, SAD. Geta life pal. Quote Link to post

mole catcher 1
nope, no badgers for miles. MT see what you have started i will get my coat on my way out Quote Link to post
trappa 518
I lost a few the other week at one spot. I know for a fact that the keeper that lives about 1 mile away keeps anything that he classes as a pest down to an absolute minimum-and he classes most things as pests It wasnt walkers/kids as its in a right out of the way spot so it had me thinking, still arent sure! mole trapper 1,694
Chalky i am a little worried about the gimpy rubber gauntlets mate, had you just come off the night shift. Never ceases to amaze me, the amount of times trapping a nice quiet garden or whatever, you decide it is time to drain the vein and sure as eggs is eggs someone turns up, then it is the clamp of death while you try to wind it back in and look nochelant. I think the wet streak down the trouser leg can be a bit of a give away though. Quote Link to post

proper job 1
Off topic, but I tried the Chalkwarren method of squirrel dispatch the other day, I reckon you said what you did so as some silly f****r like me would try it, all I can say is you most have some good forearms, and I won't be doing it again Quote Link to post

Steve Albano 21
I lose all kinds of mole and gopher traps to coyotes and raccoons. Smart animals that figure out fast where they can get a free meal. Once had a golf course superintendent tell me he saw a hawk flying away with a dead gopher in his talons with my trap still attached, and my marker flag still attached to that. Quote Link to post
