I MIGHT BE GETTING A HW80 - 177, AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH WOULD BE A GOOD SIGHT TO GET. THIS ISNT MY FIRST AIR RIFLE, BUT THE FIRST IN ABOUT 20 ODD YEARS, SO I KNOW NOTHING REALLY, THE GUN WOULD BE USED TO HUNT PIGEONS, RABBITS AND IN GENERAL VERMIN, MAINLY FOR FERRET FOOD AND TO HELP A FEW FARMERS OUT, THE GUN IM GONNA HAVE A LOOK AT IS IN MINT CONDITION, WITH A SHORTENED BARRELL, ANY TIPS ON WHAT TO LOOK FOR, MY MATE IS VERY GOOD MATES WITH THE LAD, AND SAID HE WOULDNT SELL HIM SHIT, AS HE COULD SELL IT TO ANYBODY, BUT HE KNEW MY MATE AND ME WANTED IT, SO HE KEPT IT FOR US TO VIEW,(ALTHOUGH IT WILL BE MY GUN, ) Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179 Posted March 4, 2008 Report Share Posted March 4, 2008 They are a quality rifle, no frills, bit heavy but will never let you down Things to look out for, any tool marks on stock screws etc can mean its been interfered with also well worth trying it over a chrono, if you can get your hands on one, to check power is there but not too high. Scopes, depends what you like really. A good quality 3-9x40 would be my choice, wouldnt break the bank and would do the job.
