AIRGUNNER 1
As Stubby said headshots.. Quote Link to post
bill88 6
body shots are a big no no with sub 12ftlbs air rifles whatever the calibre.Headshots only on all quarry. Quote Link to post
masmiffy 82
No point 'gut shooting' with an air rifle! Head is best makes no odds if it 177 or 22 with the right pellet and distance! Practice the field craft and get within range!! Quote Link to post
Malt 379
As already said, headshots will always stop a rabbit. Gut shots are a no no. A chest shot will often stop a rabbit, but it's good practice to aim for the head. I've seen rabbits take a .22LR rimshot round in the gut, roll about and then run off into the bushes, like they'd never been shot, probably to die a painfull death. Not nice. Quote Link to post
LOGUNSOLO177 0
A gut shot is only wounding the rabbit and causing it a slow painfull death!! When using 12flb and under air rifles you have to be accurate and within range to humanely kill your quarry!! You should not be hunting unless you can hit consistent groups upto 30yds in my opinion!! I use a .177 to shoot rabbits and i kill them instantly on most occasions with a good head shot!! Practice my friend. I used this to practice give it a go mate!!
