mush 204
you should have started with a pup and trained it up, its not often that you can get a good adult dog most have something wrong with them. after you've trained a pup up you will know why no one gets rid of a good dog for a few £ Quote Link to post
Guest spudsk100
em brought dog out yesterday with the lads she caught 3 she when rabbit turns her she gets confused but she is a rocket Quote Link to post
mush 204
theres not much you can do about that besides keep working her and hope she gets better. Quote Link to post
Brian-911 210
like mush said, you should have got a pup, theres only one real reason someone gets rid of a working dog and that is it doesnt do the job properly, keep at it and see how it goes Quote Link to post

Guest spudsk100
a year she gets confused on the lamp when rabbit turns Quote Link to post
Crow 1
Forget about what you should have done, concentrate on what you have done and what you've got! I doubt she gets confused. At a year old she's hardly old enough to be described as 'a lamping dog' - sounds to me the end product of a messer! I suspect that she just hasn't much experience so give the dog time, work her light for now and then concentrate on just getting out in the fields with her over the summer months. Allow her to see a few young daytime rabbits and to chase them - don't worry too much about catching them. Use this time to get her ready for next season. Remember that she's still a pup so treat her as one Quote Link to post
reddog70 236
hello the more she goes out the more she will prob get the hang of things and learn the ways of the quarry that shes taking thats why a lot of old uns can still catch when the speeds gone years of practice brings home the bacon.. how long did it take you to learn to tie your shoe laces or learn joined up writting im still learning now lol good luck Quote Link to post
Guest longslip
I agree with crow on this one, treat her like a pup, easy summer rabbits and build up her confidence.Hopefully she be right for this coming season Quote Link to post
Scallywag 78
This might be a crap idea, so people with more experience please put me right, but what about a bit of simulated coursing over the summer? Then she'll be running with another dog and might get used to following the twists and turns of the lure? Quote Link to post
bullet 125
give the dog more time, get it out with other dogs to stimulate it, you'll never get the perfect dog over night, time and effort is the key mate, at least its running the beam, thats a start, there will be plenty of days or nights when you think to your self it should of had that, thats how the dog gains its experiance good luck Quote Link to post

telboy 0
Rome was nt built in a day eventually the penny will drop its only a pup still. you d be well sick if you parted with her and she turned into a cracker for someone else. Just a thought though does it make a differance wich way the rabbit turns or is both ways good luck Quote Link to post
