Guest Ditch_Shitter
Ideal solution to that one would be a little steel wire brush. One of just the right level of softness. Sit with such a brush for half an hour and ye'd end up with a trap that looked like it had just left the factory. I might have such a brush knocking around here somewhere. Alternatively; Stick it in a bucket of water, just enough to cover it, to which ye add about 500 ml of cheap vinager. Day or two in that and it'll clean itself. Of course, either way, it'll take a far lighter coat of rust again PDQ. Ye could always take a look at Matt The Rats' Waxing Thread and see what ye think of the ideas being offered there. Rolfe 2
thank you rolfe and would it work like new after No reason why it shouldn't function after cleaning properly.......as long as the spring is not corroded or weakened. Rolfe. Quote Link to post
hollands hope 1,024
sand blasting could be an option if you now someone who can do this for you than spraypaint it could be pricy tho Quote Link to post
bullfighter 0
you could buy a new one for £4.50 so dont spend money on it, its rusty but not antique. if you set it make sure its in a tunnel. Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
Friedrice - it is hardly incarcerated in thick obstructive rust is it?? Brush it over with a wire brush and put it to use - there are far rustier traps than that set in tunnels the length and breadth of this land as we speak! OTC Quote Link to post
