heads to skinny for collar

ive got two gills age approx 17 wks . i cant seem to get a collar on them cos ther heads seem as slim as their necks!! when i got one on it just wriggled out of it . have they got much more growing to do ?? i'm thinking of putting the locator onto a harness if i can find one . would that work ??? cheers

Are the ferrets fat?? If there in shape you should get a coller onto them. Try it tighter!

they usually reach their adult size about 6 months of age ,just wait till they have finished growing dont do anything at your collar they will fit them eventually

mk3 my jills get them fitted at the smallest hole, still alive and breathing, but my first attempts, i always tought id be strangling them, try tighter

i had a mk3 and i put it on my jill on the tightist fitting and it still come of how the ferret was still breathing i dont no i think a harness is the way to go as the mk3 collor strap aint got no give in them try the leather one of the mk1 mk2

i have had problems with my MK3 collar coming off although i find that its best to put the collar on its tightest hole. i just let the ferret have a run around abit first make sure they not choking and then dont have a problem.

i just put the mk3 on a leather collar just for the small jill , sorted

Dont be afraid to put it on tighter as it wont strangle them you will know if it does.

Sorry to bring up an old thread here, but where did you get your harnesses? Or you guys that've put mark 3 transmitters on leather collars, where have you sourced the collars from? I've bought a couple, but they're far too thick to thread the transmitter onto.

 

Suggestions welcomed!
