CZ "Farmer" trigger

Recommended Posts

One of my rabbiting guns is a CZ 513 "Farmer". It's a basic "no frills" .22rf and is meant to be a reliable and cheap to keep piece of kit.

Now I am happy with it in the main, but it's fair to say the trigger is not it's best feature. Does anyone know if there is an upgrade kit to suit it?

I know the trigger is different to the rest of the CZ range, and I have been unable to find anything suitable advertised myself.

not sure if there is any after market kits for it mate. but you could allways take a couple of the coils of the spring to take abit less overall pull off the trigger ;)

Hi Geoff. I,m not familiar with the " farmer" name, but i,m pretty certain i,ve seen the trigger, and its not the same as the current models. It can be stoned and tweaked slightly, but not to the same great effect as fitting a brookes kit to a std cz unfotunatley. Can you put a pic of the trigger up, and we can go from there?

Hi Baldie, I hoped you would pick this up. The "farmer" is in current production, It's the bottom rifle on the CZ site page for the rimfire range. Although mine is not new, I expect it hasn't changed. I will try to post a picture or two later, when my daughter is around. They do say on the CZ info that the trigger is different to the rest of the range. I suppose it is to make it cheaper, as it's a sort of utility rifle. Pity that CZ didn't try to economize somewhere else, and fit the normal set up.

Hi Geoff, just found the parts list for the farmer, and it is indeed a simpler trigger, in fact its the old trigger they fitted for years. It can be improved slightly by stoning. To be honest, it wouldn,t be worth it, i would move the gun on, and get one with a better trigger. I have done them in the past, but it takes a good hour, at £30 plus post etc, and they dont get a lot better.

Hi baldie, I see you have replied with more info already. Thank you for that. Bit of delay getting the pictures,so as I have done them, I may as well post them anyway, so anyone interested can see the old trigger. As you say, I will probably improve it better by getting another rifle!
