DvD copying

Recommended Posts

Right here we go ive been thinking about downloading a few films using torrents but need a bit of information first like:

1. Once downloaded do i need to do any converting before copying to a blank dvd disk.

2. Could i use windows media player to copy dvds or would you recommend something like Nero.

If you feel i have missed something out, please tell me as this is the first time copying dvds and dont have a clue. :icon_redface:

Thanks in advance all comments appreciated AG

have you started downloading the films? if not you'll need something like bitlord. once done it depends on your dvd player and what format the movie is in. all mine get converted to avi using dvd santa, once done it asks if you want to burn them right away, saves using nero, roxio etc that way. and thats about it. theres ome formats such as bin or whatever but i havnt figured them out yet so usually just stick to xvid, avi or divx. oh make sure the torrent has plenty of seeders or you could end up getting half way through and not being able to finish it. good luck.

Dvd2one , dvd decrypter and nero are what i use in that order , dvd2one shrinks the file decrypter does what it says on the tin and nero writes it , might be a slow way , and old , but its how i first did it and still do , i only do a few so it dont matter to much to me . Airgunner , are you going to make some air gun hunting dvd`s and put them on e-bay ? Because there are some on there now , most crap but they are there .I got one with a bloke in a ghille suit talkin about cammo , just makes me laugh , or is that you airgunner , like the stig , in a ghille suit , only we never see your face .

I use azureus for downloading torrents and nero for converting and burning. I find nero easier to use and it can burn every format.

If you have quite fast broadband and fancy getting exactly what you are looking for, and decent quality - try using newsgroups to download binaries.

I use a program called Grabbit available on a free download off tinternet. shemes.com. Its a little more complicated but there is a forum to ask questions and get advice. It will download as quick as your broadband will allow. Great for running over night.
