Ferreting Drain Pipes ???????

got some more permission today and i have been told there aint many rabbits on here but you get a few living in the drain pips in the fields??? must be for the flood water to be directed into river i think but does anyone have any experiance with ferreting this type of ground?

 

im in 2 minds weather or not to do it as i dont want me ferrets getting trapped down there if there is a big drop etc.

ferreted plenty of drains , provided you know both ends, the easyest are the ones , where there is a little bridge to allow tractors in a field . these are some times only 5-6 metres or so .

 

if you have a thumb stick/walking stick tie a length of cord round it ( so you can pull it out) and throw/slide it along the pipe it often flushes the rabbit out the other side ;)

just remember to stick a net over that other end
