Skycat ,who posts on here once had a derhound cross that ,though tall could get down to her game,my oldest dog is 27in and he picksup ok,smaller dogs are usually better being more agile ,but taller animals often see stuff the littleuns miss, swings and roundabouts, persevere with him and take pleasure in your dog if he suits you ,thats all that matters,imo.Inan.

theres been loads of greyhounds bigger than that which have been excellent pot fillers, and wouldnt need lifting over every gate and stream whilst trying to lamp... i know coz my grandads did just that, and knew the difference between a squatter and a bird, which he could take also using his grace and brain...WHAT A DOG SPIKE WAS!!, so size isnt everything, its what you do with it. (sure ive heard that phrase before) :D

big dogs can catch well enough but need good open ground to turn and get down to rabbits hares etc , smaller dogs better in little fields with cover and hedges depends on what you want out of the dog
