I have to feed a foster dog of mine Pedigree chum as requested by the vet caring for her. He does not trust my raw diet that I give my dogs.

This stuff stinks of sour artificial chicken flavouring. The dog is so thirsty and has to eats piles of this crap and the nuts bloat in her stomach and cause to drink 5 times the amount of water that my dogs drink. She has bad breath from it and loads of poo. She is hyper and it contains only 4 percent chicken! That is 4 pieces in 100!

My dogs get 50 percent pure chicken and bone in there food, along with fresh liver and fish.

My house stinks of sour chicken. Her fur smells as well.

Pedigree :censored:! :thumbdown:

I dont know why the vets condone such a diet :no:

Must be the kickbacks. :thumbdown::angry:

Vets are not trained in nutrition, so im told, And a lot of the time, recommend the food sold in their veterinary centre. My vet recommended Iams to me. No chance. Over priced and low quality ingredients.

Pedigree chum, along with many other well known brands, are full of rubbish. It’s like feeding your child take away junk food for every meal of his life.

My dog is being fed Burns

is that recommended?

I want to feed him "named igedients" not 4% protein - whatever that is.

I feed him a bag of bones per week too, often lamb bones, but sometimes beef.

He eats all the lamb bones.

Is this what you would consider a balanced diet, he doesn't actually work at the moment but I cover several miles a day with him.

advice please

thanks

Carrie

poor girl. i hope her next family does her better than what happened in her past. i know that manufactured chow is downright toxic to one of my dogs. it didnt used to bother her until she got hurt. she has to have the maximum amount of protein, and i mean the real stuff, a day on dog chow vs a day on BARF is like night and day. you can tell just by looking at her what she's been eating. i never want to go back to dry food again!
