whin 463
saw hundreds of saluks run on jack rabbits but they were not all hare catchers the best ones ive seen were run with people who had them for years and new the score , some dogs take till there time get a season under there belt and some are desperate for anyhting i would only take apure salukof tried and tested stock who had good mouths etc m do you no the history of your dogs and there familys capability etc all the best wait till the stubbles cut ,and get easy hares for him to flush even if you can drive the stubbles and lamp him getting him killing , two or three easy kills , if hees bred right heel catch stubble hares got colllie crossses who can catch them and the older saluk crosses not much sport realy , persevere but dont waste all your time as some dont make it and some do click my bitch caught a hare at 11 months then at fourteen months she was running them to hard and not useing her head , so ran her on hares through stubbles she caught a few and is doing fine now all the best Quote Link to post

whin 463
what age is the dog as hares are not the easiest at this time of year unless youve got wide open land no obstacles hees maybe just not mature enough and the hares are, hope he does well , if not well bring him up here in scotland gods country weel get him killing something away now for a chase cheers Quote Link to post
lurcherchavvy 3
i think hes just under a year and a half old....if you see him run a hare you can tell that hes got it in him he does run fecking well apart from pick them up.....it will come eventually since i started seeing this dog run i have seen a big big improvement and its like this dog is just starting to click Quote Link to post
