Ragley 10
See this is where i get confused ,whats a Russel?Whats a Parson?and are they the same as white fells? Hi Pip They're all from the same original line, that being the long legged type bred by Parson John Russell, a Devon Hunting Vicar in the 1800's, and now called Parson Russells. The short legged ones, commonly called Jack Russells were further bred down for working in small spaces. The Parson Russells tend to be show dogs, but not all. The photos attached show my dog Tags and he has an excellent hunting line, with his mother working for a Fox Hunt pack in Scotland, and his gran being Winnie the Witch of Hardytown, the Croombe and West Warwickshire Hunt terrier for many years. Tags has not been entered yet, but will be out with the Mink Hounds this coming season and hopefully learning something. Quote Link to post

Ragley 10
just out of interest which Fox Hunt pack in scotland? As Tags came from the Duke of Buccleuch Estate, I can only guess it was with the Duke of Buccleuch's Hunt, unless it was somewhere else before the breeder (Under-keeper) moved to the estate.
