events co-ordinator 353
My old man has worked with Barrie in the Scottish Parliament and I helped since my early teens and Barrie has stated most people don't KNOW the help given to DOGWORK by the Alliance/Scottish Countryside Alliance because we were fighting for ALL dogwork not just Terriers we were being invited to meetings with people and orgs that most people have never heard of. We are up against multi million Pound outfits Like Peta/ Lacs/Avocates for Animals/Animal concern,RSPCA etc and some of you want to turn on the only organization that was prepared to make sure we were able to get to the right people to put forward our arguments that were so succesful in Scotland for Terrier Work. Remember how thatcher dismantled the unions we really do not want to fight amongst ourselves their are more than enough opponents to what we do without helping them.YIS. See you at the AGM Barrie. Guest busterdog
I've had a look at the FMWTC and i can't see a club for staffordshire, what happened to it ?. I do think if you made paying into these clubs easier by paying with paypal then there'd be more up for paying their way. Barrie if you pm me an address i'll pop a payment in the post and jump on board, if i can be of anymore assistance give me a shout. I'm not a good public speaker but i'm good for some donkey work. events co-ordinator 353
Here's a thought some terrier shows give a donation to charity why not give a donation to the NWTF instead all it takes at the show is for one of the organizers to walk round inside the ring with a bucket and announce its for the NWTF even if people are only sticking in loose change or a pound they at least know its being used to promote Terrierwork after all Charity begins at home. .YIS JO. Barrie 1,325
I am a member of CSA Ireland and even though i dot agree with all their policies they have been a great help to me on certain issues and being a member is handy when looking for permission ,but i think Ireland needs an organisation like the NWTF that will focus soley on terrier issues that can easily be put under threat with he flick of a pen Personally I'd like to see that happen too and in the past the NWTF has offered any assistance it can in the setting up of such an organistaion. I'm sure there was a thread on it some time back. The problem seems to be a combination of the lack of terrier clubs in Ireland and the ability to find the right people who are willing to get involved, pick up the baton and run with it. I believe there was such an organisation at one time, but for reasons I'm not aware it seemed to die a death. Regards - Barrie I would be really interested in being involved in it over here but to be honest i wouldn't have the contacts or the now how to get the ball rolling and would like to here from anyone that does The offer of assistance still stands.... I did have an enquiry via the website from Ireland re the setting up of a terrier club, but unfortunately once I opened the email it promptly disappeared (a technical gliche I guess). But I'm sure if those lads are on here that they'll get in touch, maybe it's worth starting a separate thread ?. Kindest Regards - Barrie Edited January 11, 2012 by Barrie Quote Link to post
