Tyla 3,179
Just finished building this for the ferrets. They belong to my buddy but due to a change in his circumstances they are staying with me for the foreseeable future. They looked bored in their hutches so i knocked this up, all made from scrap so didnt cost me a penny it needs a few finishing touches but it will do. What other things are good to put in to keep them entertained? Quote Link to post

HOW ABOUT A FRUIT MACHINE THESE FERRET HUTCHES ARE LOOKING MORE LIKE CENTRE PARKS EVERY DAY THEY MUST BE HAPPY I SUPPOSE The way i see it is if you expect your ferrets to do a decent days work you house them correctly, a ferret living in cramped conditions isnt going to be much use really Quote Link to post
sue 1
you have made a good job of it and even better that it didnt cost you anything ,i paid a fortune for mine Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
Nice one , you have made a cracking job of that Thanks, i reckon it cant be good for them being cramped all the time. it must be like asking a couch potato to do a hard days graft, asking a ferret that barely moves all day to chase rabbits for hours! Well common sense tells me a ferret who is allowed some freedom is going to be better toned than a ferret who has a very basic hutch & no run to explore Quote Link to post
Lilyferret 0
very nice Quote Link to post

Nice job mate, its good to see people taking good care of the ferrets. i've seen too many just stuck in a dirty cage and only getting a look out if their owner can be arsed to get out and do a bit. Tyla 3,179
How about a few of ladders and shelves? Excellent job there but alot of wasted height. jmo. basil. Thats true but i am 6'2" and need to get in it to clean it so the height is important to me! i think shelves and ladders are a good idea though, maybe a bit of tree trunk and some old t shirts as hammocks too? Perhaps Tyla's kong dog toy too as she just ignores it! Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Tidy job! I've got some good timber I salvaged from a job I did. All I've got to do, is de-nail them, and there ready to go. (when I get round to it! ) Quote Link to post

I`m not trying to p**s on your bonfire because that`s a spot on job you`ve done, but if the ferrets can`t benefit from the height of the court then they just as well be in a large hutch. Shelves don`t have to be wide and ladders can be removable and they love drainpipes. Go on try it, if it doesn`t suit then you can always take it out again. basil. Quote Link to post

Your right about the space if they cant use it but i want to put stuff in there for them to climb on. Quote Link to post
