Tyla 3,179 Posted February 24, 2008 Report Share Posted February 24, 2008 Had an invite yesterday from zebedee for a spot of ferreting and a wander with the air rifles. its a lovely bit of ground and absolutely riddled with bunnies, so much so that it was a case of trying to find buries small enough to ferret! Had all four of the girls but not enough purse nets (given upon the long net til someone shows me how not to get it so tangled ) The rabbits were reluctant to bolt but the girls worked well and eventually got them moving although im fairly sure there were still rabbits bottled up in both buries. The mk3 was not behaving and even after a change of battery wouldnt pick up the collar, i think it was the collar batteries but didnt have any spares of them. Luckily, although they definately killed down below, they all came up quite readily. Just a shame we couldnt locate the kills below ground. We also had a meander about with the airguns and got another bunny and a squirrel. Tyla retrieved the rabbit 3/4 of the way back which i suppose is better than nothing but her retrieve still needs alot of work She redeemed herself by being great while ferreting, holding rabbits in the nets while we scrambled through the rows of trees in the orchard. zebedee321 0 Posted February 26, 2008 Report Share Posted February 26, 2008 well hello finaly made it back on the site after a long absense!!!!!!!!!!!! had a great day out with paul..... what he is not telling you is the rabbitts only seemed to bolt when i went for a walk!!!! must have been the aftershave or something!!!!!!!!!!! still paul is a top fella and is a star to take on permissions as a guest. as for tyla's 3/4 retrieve. i did not mind filling in the other 1/4 of the way. lol john Quote Link to post
