Tis TM 8
wanted to get a few chickens but dont think i am allowed on my estate so was thinking of quail small quiet but dont know anything about them . Anyone got any help or better ideas cheers Quail actually make quite a bit of noise, ... well the male Coturnix quail my brother has, do. Also, the eggs are lovely, very rich and creamy, but bloody tedious to prepare, you need alot of them. I'd look into seeing if you could have a few chucks, and promise the close neighbours some nice fresh eggs from time to time I recon thats worth a bit of noise
Simoman 110
I've kept quail and the eggs taste nice but you need a fair few to make an omlette
Keeps 403
We've just been getting a few bantam hens, no cockerel so they aren't too noisy. They are kept in a good sized aviary - you could try and sneak a few in the neighbours might never find out
confused 1
what size of aviary do you have and how many bantams?
Keeps 403
Its approx 4 x 8" inside and approx 8 x 8" for the outside run, it used to be quite a bit bigger, but part of it was partitioned off to make a ferret run. Theres 6 brahma bantams running in it and there more than plenty of room for them

confused 1
Its approx 4 x 8" inside and approx 8 x 8" for the outside run, it used to be quite a bit bigger, but part of it was partitioned off to make a ferret run. Theres 6 brahma bantams running in it and there more than plenty of room for them thanks, i fancy that idea my aviary is 4x3 inside and about 6x5 outside ,so on the sq/ft of yours i should be ok for 3wee ones which would be fine ,produce a few fresh eggs, and not much cost or muck! just enough for the composter . i presume that bramha's are not much bigger than good sized pigeons. thanks for your help,it's much appreciated
