I have that effect on some blokes

The coin looks really cool, good find. Guess you'll be getting your lazy arse up off the sofa to scan the land for treasures now.

just because you are going to sleep with me for all my new found wealth lol :)

hi bigred, as for models and prices, I have no idea, I got interested in detecting bout 8yrs back, thinking I would be a millionaire by now

and went out and bought a super duper one that cost around £550, joined a metal detecting club in essex, went out my first time and found a silver coin with some "king henry" on it, worked out it was around 650yrs old, it wasent a1 condition, and I put it somewhere safe (cant find it now :icon_redface: )

and then lost interest in the whole thing, but out of all the bits that have come and gone my way, the metal detector was the one thing I never sold on, always thought I'd take it up again in my old age

Wouldn't be any other reason for me to do it, would there? A girl needs motivation.

The have detectors for children, so you should be able to figure out how to work it.

BR,

the bronze coin is a AR ANTONINIANVS of "Salonina" 253-268 AD

The obverse legend reads: CORNELIA SALONINA AVG

" reverse "" "" : "VESTA" and depicts the god vesta holding a sceptre and patera

I'm afraid it is not going to be a retirement fund... more like a nice fish supper !!

you want a whites spectrum xlt, great machine with good depth and programs. Found lots of odds and sods with one a few years back, i will post some pics when i get time this week, Best find i had was a large gold ring dating back to around late 15 century with an inscription on the inside...a virtuous wife preserveth thee life...it had the fluer de lis marks on it rather than hallmarks 14ct i think, sold it for £500 notes :D . Minelab machines are ok but stems have been known to break and the noise is a bit irritating to some....
