gnasher16 30,217
Im know arsenal fan,but i think its pretty much the done thing these days when playing arsenal to " get stuck into them " early on......the " let him know your there " attitude is a key tactic in most of the lower league teams when playing arsenal.....with 2 minutes gone this was clearly the mentality taylor went into this tackle with...should he be banned ? no....should he be fined ? no.....but i think something should happen, this was a career ending tackle on a world class striker by an average at best defender....think what we would be saying if it had been rooney, owen or any top english striker in their prime whos career at international or club level could now be in doubt. jasper65 6
Its probably true that teams have been told to get into them straight away!! but I still remember how dirty Arsenal was when Man Utd wiped them out in their FA Cup match a couple of weeks back , I think it was Nani who bore the brunt of most of the challenges when they was getting a footballing lesson .... Jasper Like i said Jasp im not an arsenal fan and im not defending them, what i meant was this " get stuck into them " attitude no matter what team is in the firing line is always going to end up with an injury like this,it was an adrenalin tackle more than anything.....that said i wouldnt class arsenal a dirty side...as this tackle showed theirs " dirty " and theirs outright " disgraceful "...this was disgraceful. MATTI 34
There is getting stuck in and then there is that discusting tackle, he led with 2 feet (and his stud's) managed to pull 1 leg back when he realised the ball was'nt there why did'nt pull both leg's and slide on his knee's, Eduardo is a class player that would be an assett to any team and hope he make's a full recovery, i,m not an Arsenal fan by the way, just think alot of these horrific incident's could avoided. I,ve seen better timed tackle's on a sunday morning and % of the lad's are still pi**ed from saturday night Come on the Toon

bill88 6
I'm not a fan of Arsenal, but that was f*****g awful and my heart went out to the lad.I hope its not as bad as it looked, but if i'm realistic i can't see him playing again.I agree with Gnasher that sides are sent out to "bully" arsenal in order to rattle them, but i don't think Taylor was trying to do anything malicious,it was just unfortunate. Saw the tackle again on match of the day last night, paused it with sky plus, then ran through it again, frame by frame.. wish I hadn't, poor bugger.
