Last Sundays Frosty Morning

Recommended Posts

After not getting out for a couple of weeks, due to Chipper losing his terrier so we spent a week looking for it, and myself being busy with work, this weekend I had no van because it was in the garage so we thought we would have a look out with the dogs and ferrets, knowing it was going to be a hard frost we aranged to meet Andrew and Don to do some big sets on the dale, so Chipper young John and myself arrived on the dales in a bright sunny afternoon and could see rabbits droping into the sets we where to work, the first place was a mound of black slate shale a place so hard we had to knock the pegs in with rocks how rabbits dig here I dont know,

The rabbits where in no mood to bolt and this was to be the start of a days digging

We moved on to some banks and spilt in to two groups to cover more ground in the time we had left, meself and Andrew in one and Chipper and Don in the other, young John moved between the two of us taking pictures and video (today he decided to go all arty-farty on us with some black and white and scepia shots

We went from set to set dig after dig, in all we had 18 digs, but it was'nt our usual 12 inche diging some where'nt to bad but others wherejust small stones and rocks hard slow work, muggins got the only 5 foot dig of the day luckly it was one of the few plces that where just peaty soil for 3 foot then clay, still slow, but after 1/2 an hour the ferret was just not giveing up its rabbit so a dig it was to be ofcourseit was my sliver dog so it was my dig
