Scuzy 1
Hello all, Ive just lost one of my albino hobs yesterday and he was my best ferret, the wind blew the hutch open and he got out while i was in school. Ive been looking for him for ages, told all the neighbors etc... but no luck as yet . My question is, have any of you lost a ferret? How long do they survive? and what can i do to help find him? Regards, Luke. Quote Link to post
Jack NUFC 1
never lost one yet (touch wood) but one thing i would advise you to do is leave the hutch open and a carry box somewhere else all the best f.k Quote Link to post

Scuzy 1
thanks, i will be out with the lamp tonight to have a look around, ive left his cage open and nest box etc... im bound to find him how far do they go???? Quote Link to post
richie 1
leave a live trap or a couple around your garden & maybe one in the front garden, depending on your set-up. personally i wouldnt leave any meat or food in there as it will only attract other unwanted creatures to set it off. place some of your ferrets bedding inside & cross your fingers. but i would get on it straight away as time is short. Guest spudsk100
i lost my ferret a week ago and i went out on the lamp the next day and i found him............they only live for a week or two best of luck Quote Link to post
COMPO 54
in my experience they dont tend to travel far, its probably in someones nearby shed or garage or greenhouse. Posters around the area, ask the local kids, ask the postman, local shop and police station as well as the local rspca etc...in case they get it handed in. also anyone who keeps chickens, pigeons, rabbits etc...warn/ask them one of my ferrets escaped whilst being looked after a few years ago by an old boy in a neighbouring town, she was out 3 days and was found in someones greenhouse, they were feeding her cat food and petting her live capture traps (i would bait them with food) good idea How long ferrets survive feral?? some survive years and turn truly wild, others which have been worked with dogs and trust dogs get kileld by someones pet terrier good luck in finding him! Scuzy 1
Ok guys, just had a major breakthrough, Just went out tonight and knocked a few doors in my cul-de-sack and one man at the bottom of my street said that a scruffy man had knocked on his door the day my ferret went missing and asked him could he go in his back garden to get HIS ferret?!?!?! i thought the cheekey B*****d and then the man in the house said the scruffy man walked away to his car with a ferret in his hands! I dont know what to do beacause the man could have stolen him or is just keeping him safe?!?! EDIT:My father thinks he knows the man who picked my ferret up as my father thinks the man is a keen ferreter himself so hes going up his house tommorow with a few of his mates to have a little word with him :realmad: Quote Link to post
