nemo101 0
cane / dogo / pressa / ? arn't dogo's and presa's the same thing or am i getting confused It can be quite confusing. Dogo Canario and the Perro de Presa Canario are essientially the same breed, the only difference is that the Perro de Presa Canario are seen as the working types, and therefore a little lighter and more athletic and the Dogo's are the show versions that are hevier and blockier. I would say they are and old style of neo, much like the modern type of cane corso.

kvnmcwebn 0
I think maybe those are the ones they used to breed down there to watch the slaves back in the day. They was a case in the states where they killed the gardner a while back.
kreet 0
dogo ? the arginetine dogo is a dog in a class of its own breed to only ever have one master a true arginetine dogo is pure white any colour on then is a defect they are ilegal in this country due to the fact that in my opinion are arguably the best gaurddog ever made i. I think the dogs you are thinking of are the Fila Brasileiro which were said to track slaves and hunt Jaguar as well as being alround farm mastiffs. Filas are very "houndy" so i don't think these are them. The dog that "killed" the gardener in the USA was actually and old english mastiff, the dogs were owned by the film star Ving Rhames. Afetr the autopsy had taken place they found out the gardener died of a heart attack and the dogs were standing over him and gaurding him. All the dogs were returned to Rhames and all charges dropped.

Dogo is Spanish for dog, and is put in front of various breeds from Spanish speaking nations. For instance Dogo Canario is translated into Canary dog and Dogo argentino is translated into Argentine dog or Argentine Mastiff. And your correct, they are cracking dogs. Only ever seen a couple, nice animals tho.
