  • 1 month later...
went to feed the dogs this evening,a bit later than usual,

my 6month old bull cross, that i had off turk, bitch did'nt come running,

though it was unusual, then she came to me swaying from side to side

then fell over.

I rushed her into the house pupils were huge, could'nt stand up,

did'nt even seem to reckonise me.

Anyways rushed her to emergancy vets he thinks it may be poisoning

and did'nt seem to hold much hope

Treatment bloods and fluids overnight stay £350

obviously she'll get what ever care she needs but needless to say i'm f***ing

gutted. Just hope she pulls through tonight Roybo

all the best [bANNED TEXT] hope she pulls through the poor thing good luck

hows the wee bitch getting on robyo?reading this thread brought back memories of my lurcher showing similar symptoms(tho not nearly as bad, thankfully) after buggering off to **** the rubbish left out at the back of a local factory :icon_redface: .fortunately his vet bill wasn't anything like yours  that and the fact he flipped over after putting a leg in a hole the next week quickly made me get insurance!

hope the bitch is okay.

i now it old news but i glad you dog came round ,i had a terrier and still have and it eat 40x400mg ibuprofen tablets why we were out on the town the dog took them out my misses hand bag ,found the dog at 2am in the morning out cold with piles of pink sick every were ,i rushed the dog down the vets right away after a begging phone call as the vet gave him no hope  as ibuprofen tablets are the worst thing a dog could eat he said he may pull through but his liver could pack up in a few days time then he would put him to sleep as he would be in a lot of pain ,he put him on a drip as the dog had lost a lot of fluid and a heat pad for two days , the next day we phoned up and could hear a dog barking thats your dog he said hes a strong un he said but he aint out of just yet its over the next few days to tell if he will be ok he gave the dog some tabs to make the dog drink more so it would flush out its sytem .the dog was off his feet for a few day but he is fine now,it was 6 yrs ago the bill came to £350 and i would pay it again ..the dog has gone down in the vets jounal so other vets can learn from it :good: the vet should give you brake down of what the dog got ,like pills ,care, call out after hrs ect ..you dont have to pay it all of in one go if you ask they will let you pay weekly..
