The Sporting Agent 0
Has anyone heard of the new Panorama programe due to be shown on Monday night? In it, the BBC accuses our most highly decorated army regiment of knowingly and systematically murdering prisoners of war; in particular I believe they make referance to two instances where men were executed (shot in the head) with 9mm pistols and another where a teenage male was garotted. I believe these alegations (dispicable if they are true) are made on the strength of complaints are are founded on very little evidence. What does the BBC hope to gain by attacking our soldiers in this way? It serves ne purpose than to put heavilly stressed and over worked soldiers in an even more horrible situation; to be accused publicly of such things by the nation they serve. Our soldier ARE the best trained and most disciplined of all, they are the hardest worked and deserve much more respect from the media and public alike. If indeed there is any foundation to these allegations, then they aught to be delt with in the correct manner, NOT in a public show and witch hunt like this. The farce of the "non" trail of Col Mendonca last year draged many through the mill for no reason, cost mush anguish and tax payers money and was nothing but a show. Surely the BBC are slumping to the same levels as some of the tabloid press do with other stories?
mad al 146
Totally in agreement with ya just all part of sales/ratings etc to feather nests and people do actually believe everything they read and see to be true. One thing though, is there no Official Secrets Act anymore............there was in my time and folk never bragged or whined about stuff like they do now, they just got on with it. The OSA does still exist, though it has changed a bit over the years; in many ways its much tighter now but there is also more clarity about certain things. In this case I'm guessing, if these alegations are true then the are breaches of law and the Geneva Convention in wich case need to be tried. And rightly so; my question howeve is what do the Beeb think they are doing making these accusations and bringing it to the publics attention like this? Why make a programe like this? For ratings? Because its their job to "report the news"? Bollocks!!! If there was any truth in the matter, they would quietly take their evidence to the CPS and MoD and let them look into it, get SIB on the case; NOT make a hugely publicised defamotory documenry....... The Sporting Agent 0
Ratman 2, i have come to the conclusion that you are a troll. Is that like a Muppet??!! Gutted I didn't see it, but the offer of work came up so I took it and TBH I forgot otherwise I'd have recorded it. Trying to find it on BBC's WWW...... I think its funny that there has been little publicity about it since it was aired; quite a bit befor questioing if it should be shown, but nothing since. Maybe people have realised they aught not fuel such ludicrous rubbish?
