Bedlington-That cat hasnt met a dog that means it :11:

On the subject of calibres for these ghosts, someone said about using a 243 minimum. This calibre is capable of dropping red stags at 250 yds in the right hands. Most stags weigh in at over 500lb wheras a puma type cat would struggle to reach the 100lb mark .The height of these things is no more than a good size fox hound so pound for pound about the sme body mass as a roe buck .Ive shot these with the .222[in Scotland of couse].I would be very confident of dropping one of these cats with the .222 IF they exist.

All the pug prints Ive ever seen of these cats in print have been large dogs .Cats walk with retracted claws whereas dogs cannot retract theirs. :good:

Feck me a Puma that weighs less than 100 pounds is a kitten, any adult even a small female would be above that weight. Once these (cougars) cats are treed many hunters use a simple handgun to finish them off. Shot placement is the key not calibre, a poor shot with a .50 calibre elephant gun is still a poor shot where a double lung through the heart is possible with a .22 (not recommended you try it though)

Over here, they shoot treed Mtn. Lions with .22 pistols...there not a hard animal to kill...a .22-250, or a .223 would be plenty!..

Plus Foxhounds would probably not be a good choice for hunting cats...hence why they dont use Foxhounds for it!..lol.

Mtn Lions will run from almost ANY dog that is willing to push it...they have been treed buy terriers and collies!..

There has been a lepeard shot on the isle of white, and a Lynx shot on the Norfolk suffolk border...they are there, imo.

Kye,..

shoot first and worry about the repercussions later, i dont think you would need to worry about your licence, as others say it was worrying stock or you shit yourself when it started to come towards you :D
