herefordian 11
Ived lived with alcolishm all my life with my mother and brother, not pretty, but I would hope that if my family got to that stage and they needed a transplant that, that would be the wake up call!!! Guest baldie
Because he was a good footballer does not make it right, footballs just a silly f*****g game, its not even a sport, there are far, far more important things in life, The mans dead, im sorry for that, and also his family who loved him, but he was just a footballer , who was an alcho, wasted a perfectly good transplant, and beat up his girlfriend, remember that, when you are shaking your head at the antics of todays young players, you can then remember where they get it from, my opinion is they should get a proper bloody job, the twats
Guest Tonedog
I'm not a football fan, but I am a drinking fan, and this guy sounds like a legend. Sudsing up a liver transplant is something most boozehounds could only ever dream of doing. This is the kind of drinking talent you can't get from universities, you need to pick it up off the streets. I'll never forget the time I heard about george best getting a liver transplant and soaking it with alcohol (was about 10 minutes ago), the furor was intense (about 3 pages), it was one of the most memorable moments in drinking history (I can't remember much else). cragman 2,791
As a much as he was a genius on the pitch, it's kind of weird that his last heartbeat should ring in the new 24 hour licensing laws.
Guest baldie
Aye that is odd craggy, bet the new laws dont last long, Barnsley on a weekend is akin to Beirut now, God only knows what it will be like with all night opening i,ve always though, if you cant drink enough before 11 o clock, you arent trying hard enough plus, what bloody time would you go for a kebab? Royston2 0
Socks mate be as honest as you want i dont think you can beat a bit of honesty if only besty was more honest before the waisted transplant might of saved someone who wanted to live instead it prolonged the life of a great footballer but an even greater arsehole feck the wanker out and lets just think of the poor feckers who fight illnesses like cancer they dont get branded legends and they fight from start to finish they are the sort i respect not fecking waister alcoholic c**ts.... :realmad: :realmad: Sorry if that is too honest for some on this board...(bit close to home for some i think)
Guest 5Dogs
At the end of the day,the man was a great footballer, the GREATEST these islands has ever produced, but for all that he was a human being not some infallible machine. As they say, let he who is without sin cast the first stone, i for one would be a long way from the front of the line, but by no means at the back! There is a lot worse than George Best walking on the face of this earth.
