scotlandforever 0 Posted February 20, 2008 Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 Hi all first time posting in this section so abit anyway was talking to my mum and dad and they said as soon as my brother moves out and takes his gun dog with him i can get a lurcher so i need to know what breed i will be better with the ground round about me is about half hill half flat kind of mixture of both need a dog that will be able to ferret, lamp all quarry day and night so lad's what do i need thanks in advance Jason Quote Link to post

nbk 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Report Share Posted February 21, 2008 go for the collie cross's very smart and power and great on all quarrys whippet grey excellent rabbit and hare dog not enough power to be pulling big game not saying they wont but you will have better chance with the collie grey these are my brothers two collie grey brindle bitch has some suluki in her...i run a whippet grey myself and being honest he will hit a fox but makes a very hard job of them as they are light wieghts.... my brothers two collie greys hope thats helps... jonathan 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Report Share Posted February 21, 2008 you will never get a dog that is good at being a all rounder and i see no ones said about the beddyx because he said ferreting and lamping and a beddyx will have foxes and you all no what there like rabbiting and they have a very high prey drive.
