Land Rover 110 Pick-ups

Recommended Posts

I'm considering buying a Land Rover 110 single cab pick-up and would appreciate any advice or comments from those with experience of them. I don't generally carry heavy loads but a lwb pick-up really appeals to me as i'm generally carrying wet fishy smelly salty gear in the back of my van at the moment and also deer during the season. It would be used as my sole vehicle covering about 500 motorway miles a week and some light offroad stuff in the course of work. I'd probably be looking at a TD5 and a clean enough body.

I'm wondering how they handle when the back is empty and are there big differences in handling between the standard and high-capacity models.

Cheers

Check the poll Spud. I had a 300 disco and was impressed. :clapper: Up and down too Scotland (backhame) it was fab so I bought a 2001 Td5 on the back of it 4yrs later. Now I'm not slagging of the physical dynamics in towing and carrying but.and I can back this up!!!!!! CRAP

Garage and it needed the garage(not air flters etc ) I recall as £7-800 per annum wear and tear. Now if you can get under the bonnet for 48hrs each 14 days fairnuff . Fuel economy though this was with a patriot roofrack was about.......14-16...yep, absolute horrors. And that was with a GKN O/Drive The whole package was crap . And they rot...real quick. With a 200-300 earlier engine I think it wouldn't hurt so much, but the late turbo etc and the poor build quality all round, in the CSW was crap. :hmm::hmm: the pickup might be different. You know each too thier own and all. Also, I'm 6`2" @ around 14st and it was SQUASHED  I did Argyll too Hereford on a regular basis and unless your paid a lot off lucre, it really hurts.

Don't want too put you off but. And I realy wanted it too work
