out for an hour

Good evening just returned from trying the CZ varmint hmr with a new brookes trigger kit i fitted yesterday spent a while yesterday re-zeroing the rifle, and I must say they do actually make a difference the trigger feeling a lot crisper, so anyway went and tried it today, after walking round my shoot and seeing nothing mind you the tractors where busy on the fields I found a comfy spot at the bottom of an electricity pole sat with my back to it so it was hiding my outline a little , settled down looking down the drainage ditch and the unploughed field to the right, the sun was facing me so that wasn't helping anyway looking down the ditch a rabbit popped out got the lrf out and pinged it at 127yds now i hadn't shot at anything that far out,now i know it isn't far but it was to be my furthest shot yet with the hmr, so deep breaths rabbits head in focus squeezed the trigger and was very happy to see the spray in the sunlight as the little 17 grainer did it's job with great accuracy, so I'm sat there feeling really chuffed with myself and another one pops out a little further away thought go on why not have a go, so focused it's head in the mtc scb reticle squeezed the trigger and again it just dropped on the spot got the lrf out just to see and 142yds to say I'm chuffed i know it's nothing compared to other people but my confidence is high at the moment after taking a rabbit with the 40ft lb daystate X2 sport at 82 yds the other night and this is after a terrible time of late where i couldn't hit a barn door and i was going to start carp fishing again. Anyway just like to say that the brookes trigger kit is worth it coupled with the dm80 mod the cz hmr is belting.

PS the cci rounds do seem to make a mess, more so than that of the remingtons also sorry if it's in the wrong section and sorry it's only rabbits. I have been thrown in the deep end over easter deer stalking for 3 days that should be fun.

Nice one mate, glad to hear your happy with the new trigger, seeing you've got a lrf it wont be long till you find the confidence to ping them at extended ranges for the little hmr, bet you felt good after the second one fellover,

Well done. It's always satisfying when things get back on target. :clapper:

So the Brookes trigger kit is back on sale? When I last tried to get one I was told that the guy who made them (Eric?) had gone walkabout and nobody knew where he was.

Where did you get yours from and was it easy to install?
