Guest DeeD
stevie g 2005, when did you get your Earth Dog - Running Dog magazine out? Quote Link to post
cragman 2,798
Steve, I don't know the reason but the last few I've seen dug to and hunted up recently have been really big beasts, even the vixens are showing well. What's the reason...the good summer providing plenty of food? Less foxes so more to go round? (though I've seen six killed this past week, albeit in different areas  ). The local keeper has had five in the past two weeks and ALL were in great nick with good coats and weighed a decent weight. A local guy to me was featured in Countrymaids Weekly a few years ago with a thirty pounder. Quote Link to post
madhunter 16
tell you what a terrier would have it,s work cut out with that fox it is one big fecker Quote Link to post
cragman 2,798
You'd certainly think so Madhunter, but those smallish vixens can give it out just as much as, if not more than, the bigger foxes. Quote Link to post

Not even is it? Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Its not necessarily the size of the dog that determines whether or not it gets pushed about.Weve all heard the saying"not the size of the dog but the size of the fight in the dog".There was never a truer word spoken. You are right about vixens though, fiesty little feckers they can be.
